Pre-Uniform Course

Course Objectives:

  • To provide an overview of the roles and responsibilities relating to uniformed service in the Air Training Corps as an Adult SNCO or RAFVR Officer.
  • To assist individuals considering uniformed service in selecting the appointment most appropriate to their hopes, ambitions & abilities, offering advice, direction and support as necessary.
  • To assist individuals considering uniformed service in preparing a personal action plan aimed at successfully achieving their goal of uniformed service, by providing information, advice, direction and support as required.

Target Audience:

The course is open to all Civilian Instructors and Cadet SNCO’s (Flt Sgt and above – aged 19yrs plus) who are considering Adult Uniformed service and it should be noted that this course is a pre-requisite before candidates will be invited to a Wing Board for ATC SNCO or Wing Filter Interview for Commission in the RAFVR (T) branch. Squadron Commanders are to ensure that all nominees have a good basic understanding of both RAF & ATC Organisation prior to attending the course. The course content serves only to reinforce this basic understanding prior to the candidates being assessed during the weekend.

Course Duration:

The course is residential and starts at 0900 hrs on Saturday and finishes approximately 1700 hrs on Sunday.

Course Dates:

Course 1/12: 3-4 March 2012 – RAF Wittering (Provisional)
Course 2/12: 23-24 June 2012 – RAF Wittering (Provisional)
Course 3/12: 13-14 October 2012 – RAF Wittering (Provisional)

Cost:

£5.00 for the weekend, which includes accommodation, messing & refreshments.
