It usually goes to a cadet who has contributed significantly over the past year but this year it was awarded to a group of people. The Civilian Committee have raised in excess of £20K for the squadron over the past year through various fund raising activities and grant applications. This has had a significant, positive impact on what the squadron has been able to achieve and has meant they have been able to invest in new IT equipment, outdoor kit and the purchase of a replacement mini-bus. For their hard work and dedication the Civilian Committee were the recipients of this years CO’s Trophy and Committee Chair, Mrs Ann Middleton also received a Regional Commandants Certificate of Merit for her personal efforts.

There were also Regional Commandants Certificates of Merit for two members of staff. Flying Officer Gareth Fowler and Warrant Officer Gary Tinsley were presented with these awards in recognition of not only their contribution to the successful running of 1359 (Beeston) Squadron but also their efforts in supporting the Wing in various activities and events.

Congratulations to the winners, and all 1359’s cadets for another great year, from the staff.
