It was another busy weekend for 1360 (Stapleford and Sandiacre) Squadron as again they were out in the community giving a helping hand.
Cadets turned up at Breaston’s horse show to help with escorting the riders and their horses to the different show rings, setting up jumps and calling for different categories over the public address system.
Luckily the weather was delightful and the cadets could top up on their tan. When cadets weren’t helping at the horse rings they were meeting and greeting the competitors at the gate opening and closing the gate and directing them to where they should be parked. It was a long day for the cadets but at least for lunch they had the home made buffet to destroy specially prepared.
After the running back and forth up and down the show was coming to a finish and one by one two by two the horses were stacked into their trailers ready for another day. By helping out for the day the Squadron Received £150.00 from the organiser! This money will be put to great use to provide cadets with the activities they long to get stuck in with.
Cadet Zach Davies (14) said: “It was a really enjoyable day it was something I hadn’t done before with cadets it was good to do something different. I could also to up on my tan but getting sun burnt wasn’t the best!”
