On the 13th of July, 1360 Squadron hosted Sqn Ldr Rayson-Flynn and Sqn Ldr Pass for their Annual Inspection. Before the inspecting officers arrived, the cadets, many of them having being with the Squadron for only six months, had a quick practice with guidance from the Squadron’s Drill Instructor FS Glover.
Sqn Ldr Rayson-Flynn inspected the cadets and spoke to a number of them on her way round, hearing that many of them had been with us for a short time. She also spoke to the Squadron’s banner team, who are the Wing Champions again for the fifth year running.
Following the inspection the Squadron did a march-past before the cadets could then get on with their evening activities.
On final parade, Sqn Ldr Rayson-Flynn spoke positively about the Squadron congratulating them on their successes and how the Squadron is re-building its numbers. The final parade also saw a number of cadets and one adult member of staff gain their Bronze National Navigation Award, following the Squadron’s Training Weekend earlier on in the year.
The final surprise was two promotions to the rank of FS, for Sgt Cox and Sgt Kirk who came out to collect their rank slides from the Sqn Ldr.
To end, the evening was another success for the unit and has helped us become even more determined to improve further.
