Cadets and staff from 138 Squadron enjoyed a great visit to the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. The cadets were real early birds for the 06:00 departure down to Fairford on what looked to be an overcast day. The journey seemed to fly with everyone in great spirits and full of excitement, all were looking forward to seeing all the aircraft and meeting the aircrew of all the nations attending.
Upon arrival the cadets were briefed on the day’s activity and after passing through security, we finally entered into RIAT .We was greeted by the excellent array of static aircraft on display with some fantastic aircraft in the exhibition. These included Typhoons, Tornados from the Royal Air Force and one of the most stunning aircraft in the static exhibition was the Breitling Super Constellation
The aircraft flying were spectacular with displays from the Belgium F16 Fighting Falcon, French Dassault Rafale, and The Royal Air forces own Brilliant Red Arrows (flying with the A400M) and Battle of Britain Memorial Fights (BBMF) taking centre stage. The atmosphere was electric, the sun came out and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Cadets were invited by aircrews from the nations attending to take tours around the aircraft these included the Apache and Merlin Helicopters and photos next to Typhoons from the Royal Air Force
