An experience available for everyone to participate in. Shadow is an orienteering event which lasts for 7 hours overnight. A team consisting of five or more members travel through Sherwood Forest doing different activities. There are three sectors available to complete, each consisting of 5 activities. It is the team’s job to find these activities in different parts of the forest using their own navigational skills.

The activities which were available to do included: – X factor auditions, alcohol quizzes, water balls, obstacle courses and much more. It was a test of leadership skills, communication skills and confidence. Many youngsters competed in this event; it was inspiring to see such young enthusiasm throughout the whole night.

Despite the tiredness, exhaustion and mental fitness, all enjoyed this event and are looking forward to doing it again next year. Squadrons from the ATC were seen amongst the younger generations, 138 (1st Nottingham) squadron, 209 (West Bridgford) squadron and 1181 (Syston) squadron were all spotted during the night and morning.

We would like to thank all those adults whom took part in organising the event for giving us a new experience.
