1461 Cadet Awarded Second Flying Scholarship!

In October, Flight Sergeant David Timson made his second trip up to Tayside Aviation in Scotland, home to the Air Cadet Pilot Scheme. However this time he was given the opportunity to complete advanced flying training with 6 more hours towards his end goal of gaining a Private Pilot’s License!

Luckily the weather held out for the flight sergeant which made the trip worthwhile to say the least! Some of the highlights from his trip included completing a 2 hour navigation flight around Scotland which included flying over Lock Ness and orbiting Ben Nevis! He was also the first ever Air Cadet to fly circuits with touch and go’s at RAF Leuchars and to top it off FS Timson went on an hour night flight around Edinburgh. Navigating the different towns and cities illuminated at night with sights such as the Edinburgh Bridge, seeing the new Aircraft carrier along with a few submarines!

In short, this was a fantastic opportunity and one I’m sure the flight sergeant won’t forget any time soon.
