On October 2nd, 1461 (Wigston) squadron were invited to help out with the show ‘Pack up your troubles’ a show commemorating the centenary of the first world war.

8 cadets went to support the event and helped out in various different ways ranging from collecting money for the Royal British Legion, handing out programs for the event and mingling with the high calibre of guests attending the event. Among them were BBC Radio Leicester presenters, county council representatives and even the mayor of Leicester!

The evening was hosted by Lady Gretton, the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire which added to the atmosphere of the event greatly. The Show included acts from accomplished pianists to a fluorescent corps of drums routine! Even the Lord Lieutenant Cadet of Leicestershire took part in the ending to the show.
In short this event was a real success and another really good opportunity to push the blue footprint out into the public eye.
