1461 Flight Sergeant Invested as the new Lord Lieutenants Cadet for Leicestershire!

On Tuesday 21st October Flt Sgt David Timson of 1461 (Wigston & District) Squadron was invested as the Lord Lieutenants Cadet for Leicestershire at County Hall in Glenfield. The Lord Lieutenant has three cadets each year nominated by the Sea Cadets Corps, the Army Cadet Force, and the Air Training Corps. Cadets are nominated for their outstanding contribution to their respective cadets units. After joining the ATC in 2008 David has attended numerous courses and won many Squadron awards for outstanding achievement, most notably completing the Air Cadet Pilot Scheme, becoming a graded glider pilot, completing the Air Cadet Junior Leaders course and being appointed as the Senior Flight Staff Cadet at 644 VGS.

The Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets will support Lady Gretton on special occasions such as Royal Visits, Remembrance Sunday, and the County Service. The cadets were joined at the ceremony by their families at the invitation of the Chairman of the County Council who hosted the event.
