Seven Cadets from Wigston Squadron spent their Saturday at Sainsbury’s in Leicester packing customers shopping bags in return for a small donation towards sport relief. The general public were so interested in the cadets and many shoppers stopped for a chat or spoke to the cadets at the tills. CPL Twigg said ‘the reaction from the public made it all worthwhile’. All of the cadets said it was a good day and look forward to spending another Saturday raising more money for other charities.
One shopper who was in the Royal Air Force stopped for a chat, he was astonished by the cadets putting themselves out. He said ‘the cadets look so smart, thank you! This has made my day’. Overall the day was very enjoyable.
