Following a 7 year cadet career, we have welcomed Civilian Instructor Molly Henson to our staff team.
In her term as a cadet Molly achieved great things- she travelled internationally, attending a number of Week-long camps and has flown in a number of different types of aircraft flown by the RAF. Some of Molly’s highlights include an international trip to Ascension Island, being the Corps Banner Bearer and holding the position of Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet in 2012.
Molly started her career with 1F Squadron, and moved across to us as part of her development towards a cadet forces adult volunteer. Since arriving at 1461 Molly has become an inspirational driving force within the cadet NCO team, driving up standards and ensuring that the cadets know the opportunities that are available to them. In her new role as Training and Education Officer, Molly is designing and delivering a training programme that offers opportunities and experiences to the 60+ cadets that parade at the Tigers Road building in Wigston.
Molly said ‘I’m looking forward to the challenge, it’s really good to be able to provide the opportunities that I have experienced to the cadets. I’m looking forward to hopefully progressing to a uniformed role later this year’
Officer Commanding 1461 Sqn, Flt Lt Tim Hargraves said ‘ I’m really pleased to have Mol on the team. She’s an asset with a lot of pride in her work and the achievements that can be gained. Her passion for all things RAF and Royal Air Force Air Cadets means she is exactly the person we are looking for to take us forward into the future.’
In addition to her Sqn duties, Molly also works on the Wing cadet development team on a number of courses as directing staff.
