Last week we saw the latest crop of recruits enrol into the Air Cadet Organisation to start their cadet careers. Parents, family and friends were invited along to the event held at the Squadron HQ at Loughborough TA Centre.

Before everyone arrived the new cadets were busy preparing. They practiced their drill and made sure they all knew where to be for the ceremony. Once guests had arrived the whole squadron paraded in the TA Centre where both the Squadron Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Adrian Garraway and the Squadron Padre Rev’d Rosie Whitley gave a short speech. The cadets were then called up where they attested into the Air Cadets and were handed their cadet logbook and a bible.
Adrian Garraway said, “I’m very pleased to welcome our new recruits into the organisation. I wish them all the best for the future and hope they enjoy their time with us here at 2229 Squadron.”
The squadron is now up to full strength with about 50 cadets parading every week. Now the recruits are enrolled they can attend camps and various other activities within the organisation.
