5F continue to maintain their commitment to having all cadets and staff first aid trained.

Over a long weekend at the beginning of December, another Youth First Aid (YFA) course was delivered for the most recent intake of cadets to the squadron.

The majority of ‘T flight’ attended the course and all those who attended achieved their YFA certificates after successfully completing practical assessments. The practical assessments comprised of 1) Unconscious casualty management, 2) CPR and 3) Management of an incident and treatment of casualty.

The cadets were presented with their certificates and badges at the annual awards evening by an ex- 5F cadet, SAC Matt Daly, who is currently serving as a RAF Regiment Gunner and Combat Medic.

Sac Daly also presented another two members of staff with their AFA certificates. Sgt Bull and CI Bull both completed their AFA course in October.
