1F Raise the Target in Shooting Numbers

2 Members of Staff form 1F City of Leicester Squadron recently completed the SA-(SR)-07 (Range Conducting Officers) Course.

Fg Off David Shuttleworth and Sgt ATC Joe Milligan attended the course held at RAF Cosford over the weekends of 16 to 17 July and 29 to 30 July. Both were successful and completed and passed the training and assessments, to enable them to be awarded their certificates which now enable them to run a .22 rifle range.

As 1F has an indoor range on site the new RCO’s should come in handy to support and assist 1F’s longstanding RCO Flt Lt Martin King. Flt Lt Aimee Hurst the Sqn CO said “I am looking forward to using the range a lot more than we do at the moment. 1F can hopefully champion Shooting for the ATC within the Leicester Area”

The two new RCO’s have set to work already and have already taken a number of cadets through their paces on the indoor range, qualifying a number of cadets with the Marksmanship badges.
