126 (City of Derby) Squadron have triumphed at South & East Midlands Wing’s 2009 Wing Field Day held at RAF Wittering on Sunday 5th July 2009. The Squadron beat 28 other units who competed in various competitions on the day to be crowned overall winners and taking the McKenzie Cup.

Last year’s Wing Field Day was a tie with two Squadrons being joint winners, and the same thing nearly happened again this year as 126 (City of Derby) Squadron won by just one point, with last year’s joint winners, 1211 (Swadlincote) Squadron earning second place this year.

All participants worked hard during the day and there were some very credible results which Squadron teams should feel justifiably proud of. Congratulations to all recipients of the Awards and Trophies”.

The winning teams will now go on to represent South & East Midlands Wing at the Central & East Region Field Day on the 13th September 2009.
