2070 CWO of to RAF Cranwell

High flying CWO Luke Dale of 2070 Glenfield Squadron has just finished his cadet career and is now off to RAF Cranwell to start his Initial Officer Training. Luke has passed the RAF’s tough selection process and after training at Cranwell he will undergo Pilot Training with the aim to become a fast jet pilot.

Since joining the Air Cadets at 15 Luke rapidly progressed through all the Classifications and Ranks and also gained his G1 Glider Pilot Wings, 12 hr Flying Scholarship and Gold D of E award. Apart from his Squadron activities Luke has also been a Flight Staff Cadet at 643 VGS for several years finding himself flying and teaching his own cadets on some occasions.

OC 2070 Flt Lt Steve Mayoh-Smith said:-

“Luke has always had his sights firmly set on becoming a Pilot and I’m quite sure he will succeed, he has always said, ‘I don’t care what I get to Fly as long as I Fly’, he is a fantastic example of what can be achieved by joining the Air Cadets”
