2352 Cadets Molly Dawson and Freddie Filz with their successful targets.
The morning was spent learning the procedures and drills of the rifle which was followed by each Cadet completing a Weapons Handling Test. After a quick lunch 15 of the Cadets then went to the Wigman Road indoor 25m range to put their new skills into practice.
209 Sqns Shooting Officer Sgt (ATC) Richard Vincett said “I’d like to thank Sgt (ATC) Paul Brown and CI Chris Clifford of 138 for their help and expertise and also their rifles and bullets as well as allowing us to do the training at their Sqn. All the Cadets enjoyed themselves and subject to confirmation Cadets Molly Dawson and Freddie Filz of 209 Sqn and Cdt Dylon Jenson of 138 all qualified for their Squadron Marksman Award, an impressive achievement for their first range practice.”
