Air Cadets from 209 (West Bridgford), 1279 (Melton Mowbray) and 1F (Leicester) assisted the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire and the Friends of Stapleford Miniature Railway on their Open Days over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

The Cadets main duty was running the car park and on the first day parked over 600 cars and the on second 1000. When not required the Cadets were able to explore the stands and exhibits which included steam engines and vintage cars and all got to ride behind a steam locomotive on the two mile ten and a quarter inch gauge railway.

Pilot Officer Knifton, Officer in Charge said”The Cadets worked really hard all weekend. The car parking ran smoothly and without a hitch.”
