Ten Air Cadets from 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron, Air Training Corps have completed the St John Ambulance Young First Aider course.

The two day course involved practical demonstrations, training films and structured lessons covering many topics including heat stroke, CPR, heart attacks, bleeding, fractures and choking. At the end of the course the Cadets got to practice their new skills on resuscitation dolls.

The course was run by two Civilian Instructors from 209 Sqn, Dave Hughes and Barry Hanson who are both qualified St John Ambulance Activity First Aiders. Barry said ”the benefit of the course is in giving the Cadets confidence to be self reliant and being able to help others.”
