Last weekend proved to be a very busy weekend for 209 (West Bridgford) as Cadet Sergeant Grace McDonald also travelled to RAF Halton joining other Cadets from around the Corps to take part in a Rifle Drill Display at the National Drill Championship.
Sergeant Grace McDonald spent a week at the corps Drill & Ceremonial Camp training in Rifle Drill and practicing a continuity sequence back in October and finished the week displaying the sequence on Final Parade in front of reviewing officer, AOC 22 Group, Air Vice Marshall Turner.
209 (West Bridgford) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets are extremely proud of the success Grace has had within this activity on top of her Squadron duties and hope she has the opportunity to return next year to the next Corps Drill and Ceremonial camp along with some other younger Cadets at the unit.
To be chosen as one of the twelve cadets to take part in this display has been a privilege for Grace who is looking for a future within the RAF. “It was great to meet up with some of the friends I made on the D&C camp and a huge privilege to perform a continuity routine in front of the best drill teams in the country, Commandant Air Cadets, and also a Commandant-General of the RAF Regiment.”
Well done Sergeant McDonald!
