Another night without a home meant another night out and about. This time 209 (West Bridgford) Royal Air Force, Air Cadets spent an evening at the Nottingham Rock Climbing Centre developing their personal climbing skills.
The Cadets were split into two groups – those that were more experienced and who have been before jumped straight onto the large climbing walls pushing their boundaries and completing challenges and the different levels the climbing centre has to offer.
The newer Cadets spent some time first learning how to belay and how to tie the relevant knots needed to complete the exercise.
Finally, all Cadets came together for some competitive low level bouldering. This is all done without a harness so extra care and concentration must be taken not to fall!
Cadet James Young, who has been many times before, thoroughly enjoyed the night. “Rock climbing was a very enjoyable experience and allowed us to learn a range of new skills.”
