The Air Cadets of 209 (West Bridgford) received high praise on their recent Annual Inspection. The inspection was carried out by the Commanding Officer of South and East Midlands Wing, Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson. It began with a formal parade where Wg Cdr Dickinson inspected the Cadet’s turn out and asked them questions on their experiences with 209 Sqn. After the parade the Wg Cdr toured 209’s HQ and saw the Cadets preparing for Wing Field Day.
At the end of the evening Wg Cdr Dickinson said this to the Cadets. “I am impressed by the standards of this unit. You have put in a tremendous effort and have a universally well turned out Squadron. Well done on all your hard work during the year particularly on shooting. You have many good things coming up to look forward to.”
Flt Lt Steve Richards, CO of 209 Sqn said after the inspection, “this has got our year off to a good start. Our activities for the rest of the year include a Swynnerton Adventure Training Camp, a Summer Camp at RAF Valley in Wales, we are taking part in our first weekend road march for many years, we have several weekend camping trips planned as well as many flying, gliding and shooting opportunities.”
