Ten Air Cadets from 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron have spent the weekend at the Johns Lee Wood campsite in Leicestershire learning new camping skills.

The weekend was designed for new Cadets to be introduced to camping while the more experienced Cadets were given more of a leadership role. As well as being taught camping skills like tent building and cooking the Cadets also did orienteering, initiative exercise and completed a 12km walk around Bradgate Park.

Flying Officer Steve Richards said of the Cadets who took part “It was excellent to see how quickly the new Cadets took on board what they were shown and great to see how far the other Cadets have progressed in camping skills over the last six months.
