209 (West Bridgford) Sqn received high praise on its recent Annual Inspection. The inspection began with the reviewing officer, Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson inspecting the Cadets as they paraded outside the Squadron Building. Included in the parade was the Squadron Banner team who had recently finished fifth out of 29 Squadrons in the South and East Midlands Banner Competition. Wg Cdr Dickinson spoke individually to most of the Cadets on parade asking them questions about why and when they had joined the Sqn and what they had achieved and enjoyed most during their time in the ATC.
After the inspection 209s Ensemble Band performed the song that they had won the Ensemble Band competition during the previous weekend. Wg Cdr Dickinson praised the Band for their performance pointing out they had won the competition by a considerable margin.
After speaking privately to 209s Commanding Officer, Wg Cdr Dickinson addressed the Sqn and said, “Well done 209 you are on a strong run. Like the cream you are rising to the top just like the head of a pint of Guinness. You have achieved some very good scores and I am so pleased for you, you have an awful lot to be proud of.”
The evening finished with the Wg Cdr presenting Classification and Sporting Awards to several Cadets.
