Saturday 8th October saw 209 (West Bridgford) Royal Air Force Air Cadets join with 4 other Nottingham Squadrons within South and East Midlands Wing to support the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
In total 22 Air Cadets from different areas of Nottingham arrived at Nottingham Forest Football Club to help raise funds for the all important annual poppy appeal.
It rained nearly all afternoon whilst the Cadets were collecting, however this did not dampen anyone spirits and there was constant compliments throughout.
As a reward 17 Cadets and Staff had the opportunity to watch Nottingham Forest vs. Norwich City afterwards. A very close match, but there was grins all round when Forest walked away with a win with minutes to go.
Cadet Corporal Filz was thrilled to be able to watch the football match after the event “It was a great experience and as it was the first football match I have been to watch it made the experience ten times more enjoyable.”
