Today a memorial took place for the 75th annual Battle of Britain Parade at St Laurence’s Church in Long Eaton. Cadets, staff and family from 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron Air Training Corps attended the ceremony this afternoon.
During the commemorative service, Hymns were sung and prayers were offered in remembrance to the soldiers who fought in battle. The cadets collected donations while one Hymn was sang towards the Royal Air Force Association (RAFA).
At the end, a wreath was laid on the cenotaph outside of the church. Everyone was then welcomed to drink tea in the church hall.
Cadet Corporal Catherine McHale said “It is always nice to remember the fallen who fought for our safety and freedom. We shall remember them.”
