Over the weekend 29-31 August 2008, 8 cadets of 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron attended a joint fieldcraft training weekend at Johns Lee Wood scout centre in Leicestershire.

During the weekend cadets were trained in a number of different areas of fieldcraft from patrolling to camouflage and concealment as well as putting all their new skills to the test in a number of exercises and inter-flight competitions run throughout the weekend.

The camp was attended by around 40 cadets from 5 different Squadrons from South and East Midlands Wing and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Cdt Gracie Cousins of 2195 Sqn was awarded the Best Female Cadet Award for her excellent performance throughout the weekend, despite it being her first squadron camp! “I really enjoyed the weekend and can’t wait until the next squadron camp!” commented Cdt Cousins.

The camp was also attended by two newly appointed Cadet NCOs from 2195 Sqn, Corporals Aldridge and Bailey, who gave an excellent contribution to each of their flights and the camp overall.
