Yesterday Cadets from 2195 Squadron went swimming at the Lenton Centre, for the first time this year. Every Cadet who attended managed to pass their Basic Swimming Competence Certificate and some even managed to complete their Intermediate Swimming Competence Certificate.
To pass their Basic Certificate all Cadets had to swim 150 m, tread water for two whole minutes and then lift themselves out of the water. The Intermediate Certificate involved quite a bit more and involved the Cadets wearing a t-shirt which made it harder to swim.
Despite spending all their time completing the certificates Cadet Flight Sergeant Charlie Wilson said “I enjoyed completing the certificates, and cannot wait to complete my Advanced later in the year.” Cadet Sam Parr added “it was amazing, fun and enjoyed the challenge of the intermediate certificate”.
