On the 15th August 2 cadets from 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC) went away for a week to RAF Marham for one of the Air Cadet annual camps. Cadet Sergeant Craig Harrison and Cadet Kira Beadle went to the camp.
During the week the cadets made a lot of friends from the camp and had a really fun time. Sometimes the cadets were challenged and pushed to do thing they would not have normally done.
Beadle says “this was my first cadet camp and I didn’t want to go at the start, but as the 1st day went on I gradually started meeting people this camp showed me how organised we have to be. It was a fun camp; I really enjoyed and would like to do it again next year.”
At the camp lots of activities took place some of which were doing section visits to different squadrons, one night going bowling, going go carting and also doing sports and drill.
One of the best days for Beadle was the visiting dog unit and the fire section. On the fire section visit they saw a demonstration of a fire engine putting out a fire but instead sprayed the cadets with water.
The week was very fun and all the cadets enjoyed it and would want to go again and meet some more people.
