Dressed in white shirts and black bow ties, the cadets began to emerge at Cleve Lodge last Saturday Night. Everyone was excited for a prosperous night which included a tasty three course, speeches, awards and of course the all favoured disco at the end of the night.
To start the night off a three-course meal consisting of savoury tomato soup and bread, tender pork loin, potatoes and vegetables, and a chocolate pudding topped with whipped cream to finish off was served to all the guests.
Speeches were delivered by the Mayor of Erewash, Flight Lieutenant Buckingham, Cadet Warrant Officer Damien Simpson and Cadet Flight Sergeants Nicole Walker and Nathan Moffatt, which all thanked the Squadron’s helpful officers, the growing NCO team and not forgetting all the cadets who allow the Officers and NCOs to push them to their personal potentials.
Eight different awards were given out to multiple well deserving Cadets, Cadet NCOs and the Nobel Prize even went to Flying Officer Kment on the night, some of which were not expecting the delightful surprise and all were beaming with pride afterwards.
After the awards, the only thing left to do was let the cadets party out every last glimpse of energy on the dance floor. Popular music flowed until 11:45 when many cadets began to return to their homes.
Cadet Joan Fowodu said “It was such an amazing night where we can reflect on all our achievements of the year, brings us all together, staff and cadets alike!”
