2229 Help out at Church Christmas Fayre

Article posted: Dec 16, 2014 by Sqn Ldr Mayoh-Smith

Hello All,

As you know, we are a predominantly elderly congregation at the Church of the Good Shepherd, and it can be difficult organising and manning events.

Yesterday, we had our Christmas Fayre and it was wonderful to have the help of 2229(Loughborough) Squadron.
I had no idea how many had signed up to come and was quite overwhelmed by the number who arrived, especially as a Bucket Collection was also taking place across the road at Tesco’s!

Hopefully, I managed to get all the names. My sincere apologies for any either missed out, for those whose names are miss-spelt or whose rank is incorrect!

A big, heartfelt “THANK YOU” to the following who are in no particular order:
Cdts: Tristanto
Wright L.
Cpl’s: Abell
Officer Cdt: Leathard
Cdt WO: Kent
Sgts: Wilcock K.
Wilcock T.
Flt Sgt: Bohanna

With your help carrying boxes, moving tables and helping to man the stalls, you helped to raise almost £800 for the needed Church Funds. Hopefully, you enjoyed your time with us. We always appreciate your company and people comment on your smartness, helpfulness, cheerfulness and willingness to get ‘stuck in’. You really are excellent ambassadors for the ATC as a whole as well as for your own Squadron.

So, on behalf of us all at the Church of the Good Shepherd, ‘Thank you’, and may God bless you all this Christmas and throughout 2015.

With best wishes

Rev’d Rosie Whitley
Squadron Padre
