Saturday morning bright and early saw a number of staff and cadets set off for a day of navigation. Cadets got to put what they’d learnt in their Project group in to practice. It also provided very useful training for those cadets doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award at all levels.
The groups arranged to meet up for lunch @ the Bestwood Winding House. The weather was lousy and there was no where dry to sit. As luck would have it, one of the volunteers saw the cadets reading about the Winding house and although they were closed for the winter they invited all the cadets in for a look around. The cadets were given a full tour which they thoroughly enjoyed. Afterwards they let the cadets eat in the Dynamo House which was great, warm and dry.
The day was a great success and we would certainly recommend a visit around the Winding House to any Squadrons (Open from Easter to the End of October)
