On the 31st of March 2012, 16 Cadets and 2 staff went on a 3 and a half hour journey to Reading. When we arrived we unloaded the trailer we set off into the heart of Reading to have some down time around the shopping centre. After around five hours of down time we headed back to the scout camp Paddicks Patch, which was kindly lent to us by Loddon District Scouts.

We spent the night in the hut scaring Cdt Furby with the spiders, and trying to get to sleep without swallowing any of them. When we woke up in the early hours of Sunday morning around 5:30am it was a quick scramble to get ready, have breakfast and pack our bags, ready to go to the Madejski Stadium. When we arrived at the stadium we found our post for the day and prepared our station for the foot tag removal and set up ready for those who completed the Green Park Challenge (Fun Run).

After this we got a little bit of down time to have a look round the stadium (Reading Football Club) and also have look at the finish line.
Then we had a massive rush for the half marathon with over 16 thousand people coming through at once.

The day was very exhausting and at the end of it all on the Mini Bus trip back all the Cadets were asleep.

It was a brilliant weekend away with cadets and we would gladly do it again.
