2418 Sqn at the Inter-Wing Athletics 2014

Recently Sergeant Saffron Green, Corporal Connor Kearsley and Cadet Darron Scott represented South and East Midlands Wing at the annual inter-wing sports competition.

It was a very warm day which made the events even tougher! On the day Cadet Scott competed in the 200m securing 4th place, Sergeant Green competed in the shot-put and came 4th whilst Corporal Kearsley competed in the 4× 100m relay where he finished in 2nd place with his team. During the long, hot day, South and East midlands wing gained many podium places all adding up to the grand prize of winning the inter-wing athletics competition.

“All in all it was a great day and I got to meet new people from different squadrons in the wing and catch up with other cadets from different wings who I had previously met” Corporal Kearsley.

On the final parade the cadets got to witness the appointment of a new region warrant officer. Finally the results came, South and East Midlands wing collected 3 trophies, 1st in Junior Boys, 1st in Senior Men and 1st in Senior Women. Overall South and East Midlands wing came 2nd in the whole tournament by 4 points in total.
