348 (Ilkeston) Squadron Junior cadets pass recruit weekend

10 Ilkeston cadets were put through their paces on 14th and 15th February 2009 by the recruit training team lead by Sgt Ric Batson and assisted by Cadet Sergeant Aime Hallam and Cadet Corporal Aaron Morrison. The weekend consisted lectures, practical sessions including map work and drill and assessment at the end of each lecture. All 10 cadets have been at the squadron for at least 3 months and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.
During the final padre on the Sunday, all 10 cadets gave there cadet promise to the corps, under the guidance of the squadron padre Father Cole.

Cadet Kimberley Johnson achieved the highest marks over the weekend, since joining the squadron in November last year is has worked hard in further her knowledge and understanding of the ATC and the RAF, and she excelled in this over the weekend gaining her the ‘top recruit’ award presented by Flt Lt R Bateman.

Also Cadet Sergeant Aime Hallam was presented with a ‘CO’s Commendation’ for her hard work and time she has put into to training the junior cadets.
