On the 2nd November at the Corby Hilton Hotel, 422 (Corby) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets had their annual Squadron dinner.
Among the guests included some VIP quests such as Air Marshal ‘Timo’ Anderson CD DSO MA FRAeS RAF; the current Director General of the Military Aviation Authority and ex- Assistant Chief of Air Staff. The night went off with a bang and the cadets fully enjoyed themselves. Parents and other guests said that they had an amazing evening and were proud of the cadets as they displayed perfect table manners and followed the protocol of not getting up from the table during dinner and speeches.
Needless to say during the 10 minute interval there was a dash from cadets and adults to “ease springs”, before heading back for cheese & biscuits and the speeches.
There were also 4 trophies presented to cadets for Best Cadet (Sasha Forrest).

Best NCO (FS GIllan)

Citizenship Award (FS Loy),

Cadet Carley was awarded the RAFA trophy for the cadet who raised the most for the charity. Unfortunately Cdt Carley was not able to attend and his Trophy was collected by the Sqn’s most junior Cadet Jack Barker.

FS (ATC) Broxton commented that “It was the best squadron dinner in a while and I was very impressed with the service and also the way the cadets conducted themselves throughout the evening”.
There was also a wonderful pipe band demonstration from FS Gillian and FS Loy lead by Mr Murray. All in all the night went very smoothly and everyone had a very good time. Thank you to all the guests, staff members and most importantly the cadets!
