422 (Corby) Squadron held their annual dinner on Friday evening (27th March) at the Grampian Club in Corby.
The Guest of Honour was, C&E Regional Commandant, Group Captain Brett Morrell. Who was pleased to hear of the squadrons’ growth, plans for the future, to meet the cadets and so many of the squadrons’ supporters.
Sadly Mrs Morrell was unwell and unable to attend the dinner, but the squadron presented the Group Captain with a ‘Get Well Soon’ bouquet and sent wishes for her speedy recovery.
Flying Officer Helen Gibson, Officer In Charge, was pleased to see all of the ninety-six guests enjoying themselves and thanked them for their continued support.
Her speech at five minutes exactly broke the squadron record for the shortest speech. Taking Sqn Ldr (retired) George Brady, Squadron Civilian Committee Chairman, who was running the sweepstake by surprise!
Mr Vice, Cdt Jordan McDonald-Black proposed the Loyal Toast and did great job making sure the guests were entertained while the top table retired.
A great evening was had by all and it was clear for everyone to see that 422 is moving forward into the future in a determined, and positive way.
