SEEDS FOR THE FUTURE – 504 SQUADRON RECRUITMENT DRIVE
504 (West Nottingham) Squadron’s current recruitment drive has already produced some positive results, with 17 new recruits joining the Unit in the first week. The hard work and effort from the staff (Pilot Officer Antony Booth, Sergeant(Sgt) (ATC) Laura Butcher & Cadet Flight Sergeant(CFS) Kane Dunker) who, along with other Cadets from the Unit went into the Trinity School in Nottingham on the morning of Tuesday 10th December and gave a short presentation on life within the Air Cadets and 504 Squadron, has certainly paid off.
Alongside the main Trinity School recruitment drive, a short presentation was also given at Haden Park High School in Nottingham on Wednesday 11th December. In addition, promotional material has been circulated at the Fernwood School in Nottingham and Nottingham University Samworth Academy (NUSA) to raise the profile of 504 throughout the local community.
Officer Commanding 504 Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Jodi Hudson commented: “These recruits are our new Cadets of the future and a solid base for a strong Recruit Training Flight(RTF) in the coming few months, we must continue to work hard to ensure they are welcomed in to our Unit and given the training and opportunities needed to encourage the best results from them. I have every faith in the dedicated RTF staff (Sgt (ATC) Laura Butcher, CFS Kane Dunker, & Cadet Corporal Connagh Foster), who I know are keen to progress as many new Cadets as possible in to our ranks and that they are trained to a suitable level before graduating.”
504 (West Nottingham) Squadron are currently recruiting, anyone interested is invited to come along to the Unit on a Tuesday or Thursday evening, or visit our Squadron website for more information (www.504sqn.com).
