March 2011 heralded a new era for 504 (West Nottingham) Sqn as we moved from the old and into the new.

A new building has been built at the TA Centre, home of 73 Engineers Regiment (V) in Bilborough Nottingham. Work started in November 2010 when the old married quarters at the TA Centre were demolished to make way for the new Squadron to be built.

Although the weather over winter was one of the worst in recent history work progressed well and was finished by mid February, following the hand over by RFCA we started making the move.
All the staff and cadets pulled together to sort through and pack all the equipment at the old building and move it to the new.

The building itself has three classrooms with dividing doors which can be opened to create one big classroom, also the parade hall has a dividing door to create two additional classrooms, there is also a supply room, general office and OC office. The building has also been fitted with forty data connection sockets and automatic lighting.

Flying Officer Paul Woodward, 504’s project manager said “It is very pleasing to give the unit a state of the art headquarters to progress our standing in the community. We are now hoping that we can engage with more young adults from the Bilborough/Strelley areas of Nottingham.

On 12 May 2011 504 Sqn will be having a grand opening.
