504 (West Nottingham) Squadron attended the annual South & East Midlands Wing Cross Country Championships, held at RAF Wittering on a cold and windy morning of Sunday 9th February 2014.
The cadets gathered together at the squadron HQ in readiness for the journey down to the competition. After a brief warm up lead by team captain CFS Kane Dunker, the cadets were called up to the starting line for their respective race. The cadets ran the course around RAF Wittering, over different terrains including tarmac, grass and mud. The cadets put in a lot of hard work and training prior to the event. All of the training that the cadets had applied beforehand paid off as they achieved an overall finish of 12th place out of the 29 squadrons within the wing.
Team manager, Civilian Instructor James Dodds commented;
“All of the cadets who ran and supported the squadron today did both themselves and Team 504 proud. The cadets have put in a lot of hard work to achieve this result and have done really well to achieve a finish in the top half of the table against some tough competition.”
