An Air Training Corps Guard of Honour helped raise over £1,700 for the Help for Heroes charity, in an aviation-inspired art exhibition.

Air Cadets from 1211 Swadlincote Squadron attended the exhibition in Lichfield, Staffordshire, where they escorted Lichfield’s Mayor, Councillor Christopher Spruce, and conducted other fundraising duties.

Artist John Hayward said he was “very proud of the Cadets and their efforts.” Money raised from the sale of the paintings and general public donations will also benefit other local charities and good causes, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity.

Cadet Chloe Sartain-Berry, 14, said: “It was an excellent way to spend my Saturday. We often do fundraising work for charity, but this was an unusual event and I enjoyed identifying the aircraft in the paintings.”
