Article posted: May 23, 2017 by Sqn Ldr Wilson

On the 7th of May, 15 cadets from 2418 (Sherwood) Squadron along with other cadets from the South and East Midlands wing went to, and participated in the Albert Ball parade at Nottingham Castle.

The cadets were divided into three flights and were marched down to the Albert Ball memorial site. They then proceded to have a memorial service in honour of Albert Ball, on the 100th year since his death. Once the ceremony and the prayers were said, the cadets paraded around the band stand and back up to Castle Green.

Once there, they were formed up in a similar fashion to the start of the night, they then had and inspection from the Mayor of Nottingham. When the inspection was over the cadets were dismissed, they then went to meet met up with their squadrons for a squadron photo to round off the evening. Overall the cadets from 2418 really enjoyed the experience as well as the ceremony.
