Wigston cadets have recently taken to the skies once again over RAF Cranwell as part of the Air Experience Flying programme.
The cadets left the squadron headquarters early on Saturday morning for the coach journey north to the RAF Collage Airfield where the pilots and 2 seater training aircraft were waiting for them.
The cloud base was low which reduced the type of flying, no aerobatics this weekend! Instead the time was spent giving the cadets practical, hands on experience of the principles of flight and how to control and navigate the aircraft.
Cdt Woodford said,
“Flying was fantastic, I loved every minute of it. I was shown how the plane flies and I was given a chance to control the plane. It was memorable experience and I hope to have the chance to do it again soon.”
