Around 30 staff, cadets and Civilian Committee members from 1359 (Beeston) Squadron, Air Training Corps, joined 170 (Infrastructure Support) Engineer Group, the Royal British Legion, the Scouts and the Boys Brigade for a Remembrance Sunday parade through Beeston on Sunday 14th November.
The parade started at the Royal British Legion in Beeston and stopped at the War Memorial for an outdoor service. Following the laying of wreaths by local dignitaries, representatives from the armed forces, the RBL and other organisations and the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan the parade moved onto the church for a service of remembrance.
This was followed by a march back past the War Memorial to the Legion for refreshments and the chance to catch up with old acquaintances.
1359 were once again tasked with parading three banners, Cadet Flight Sergeant Adam Hill carried the Union Flag ably escorted by Cadet Corporals Hannah Smith and Beth Denham, Cadet Sergeant Simon Ranson the Royal Air Force Association Banner and Cadet Sergeant James Grant the squadron’s own banner.
