Article posted: Aug 08, 2010 by Sqn Ldr Wilson

On Saturday the 10th of July the Cadets and Staff from 1359 (Beeston) Squadron attended the Annual Beeston Carnival. The 16 Cadets proudly marched behind their CO Flt Lt P. Bannister VR(T), from Beeston Town Hall to Broadgate Park where the Event was officially opened at 1300 hours.

As part of the display set up by the squadron, members of the public yOKoung and old were able to interact with the cadets and participate in using the squadron’s flight simulator and watch a slide show and video of the squadron’s achievements throughout the year.

During the day a number of cadets were seconded to the RAF Careers Display where they were employed by the staff in support of the RAF Cockpit Simulator. Other Cadets had the opportunity to assist in a Judo demonstration by a local Judo Club.

CO 1359 commented “It was good to see so many cadets give up their time to both promote the Air Cadet Organisation and assist in what is one of the major events in the local community, well done to all those that participated.”

Anyone wishing to join 1359 (Beeston) Sqn, either as a Cadet or Adult Volunteer, should contact the squadron on 0115 9256774 on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 1830 and 2100 or visit www.1359squadron.com for more information.
