Article posted: Sep 24, 2008 by Sqn Ldr Wilson

CFS Kyle Crawford has recently been awarded his Gold Glider Wings. Kyle, who has been a cadet at 1359 Sqn for 5 years, started his Gliding Scholarship with 644VGS at Syerston in early May. He had to commit to attending every weekend during the summer to ensure he gained the necessary experience to go solo. This took longer than he hoped for due to the weather conditions interfering with his flying.

He was awarded his Blue Wings after approximately 8 hours of training followed by being awarded his Silver Wings for going solo. After a further 2 to 3 hours of tuition he gained his Gold Wings, having demonstrated his ability to perform such manoeuvres as full power stalls, advanced turns and advanced landings.

Congratulations to Kyle from all the staff and cadets at 1359 Sqn.
