Article posted: Nov 12, 2009 by Sqn Ldr Wilson

On Sunday 8th November thirty cadets from 1359 (Beeston) Squadron joined soldiers from 170 Infrastructure Engineers from Chetwynd Barracks and scouts and the boys and girls brigades to march through Beeston as a mark of remembrance to those who have fallen in conflicts around the world.

The parade started at the Royal British Legion in Beeston and stopped at the war memorial for a short outdoor service followed by the laying of wreaths by the families of Warrant Officer Sean Upton and Sergeant Craig Brelsford who have both died in action in Afghanistan.

The parade then marched onto the church for a service of remembrance before returning back to the legion for refreshments.

As well as providing thirty cadets for the parade, three cadets had the honour of parading banners, Cadet Sergeant Adam Hill the Union Flag, Cadet Sergeant Chris Peat the RAFA banner and Cadet Corporal Jessica White 1359’s own banner.
