South & East Midlands wing have been awarded the Air Commodore Ford Cup for the best Wing in Central & East Region.

Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson and Wing Sports Officer, Flight Lieutenant Lynda Waplington, received the Trophy from Air Commodore Ford on the occasion of the Region Swimming. This is yet another measure of the Wing’s fantastic progress during the Wing’s Tenth Anniversary Year and comes shortly after the news that the Wing achieved a seventh place in the Gillan Trophy, ahead of any other Wing in the Region.

Wing Commander Dickinson, on receiving the Trophy said; “This is yet another first for the Wing and my congratulations and thanks go out to Flt Lt Waplington, the sports council, coaches and assistants and especially the cadets, staff and parents who give up their valuable time to time to organise, travel and take part in our Wing teams” He went on to say; “I have always said that when we put out our strongest teams we are a match for anyone in the Region. This award is proof of what we really can do. Thank you and well done to all involved”.
