CWO Kahla from 2418 Sherwood Squadron has been appointed the Lord Lieutenants Air Cadet for 2010 along with one cadet from each of the other cadet forces. A letter from the Lord Lieutenant himself confirmed the appointment as well as detailing events CWO Kahla would attend to assist the Lord Lieutenant in his duties as the monarch’s representative for Nottinghamshire.

The first event CWO Kahla attended was the Remembrance Parade at Trent Bridge, where he accompanied the Lord Lieutenant in placing his wreath at The War Memorial. This was followed by an opportunity to talk to the Lord Lieutenant at The City Council House. This focused on his future plans to go to the University of Leeds to study Biology.

The Annual Legal Service is the latest event CWO Kahla has attended as the Lord Lieutenants cadet, and here he accompanied the Lord Lieutenant in the procession as it made its way into St Mary’s Church for the service. The service marks the beginning of the new High Sheriff’s term in office, and the end of the previous High Sheriff’s term.

CWO Kahla is very proud and thankful for the opportunity of being the Lord Lieutenant’s cadet and says “it’s something I never imagined achieving and was completely down to the hard work of staff at my squadron”. He is now looking forward to attending a service in June at Southwell Minster to officially celebrate the Queens Birthday.
