8 first class cadets and new recruits braved the unexpected arctic weather to attend 1461 Wigston Sqn, for a days weapons training. The cadets started with a little arctic combat, in the form of a snowball fight! Fg Off Helen Gibson from 1f Sqn arrived and the cadets were trained on the No 8 .22 rifle. The cadets passed their WHT’s and the afternoon was spent on the range honing their skills. There were good results with potential Sqn marksman’s for Cdt’s Williams, Maxwell and Cdt Flt Sgt Tighe. The OiC 1461 Sqn, Fg Off Tim Hargraves and Sgt ATC Craig Harrison also gained their sqn marksman’s, even if they don’t count! Fg Off Hargraves said “ This has been a great day for all. Its great to see the potential we have for some great shooters, and thanks to Fg Off Gibson for lending a hand.”
